I am an Assistant Professor at the Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration, Hong Kong Metropolitan University. I am also a Research Fellow at the Center for Banking and Finance Research in Rio (CBFR), Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV). I hold a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Finance from EBAPE, Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), supervised by Prof. Dr. Lars Norden and Prof. Dr. Patrick Behr. Before starting my academic voyage, I served for a French corporation as a department manager and internal trainer in Xi'an and Beijing, China, and then for an international NGO in Massachusetts, USA.
My research has been published in leading academic journals, e.g., Journal of Financial Intermediation, Journal of Banking & Finance and Emerging Markets Review. My work has been presented at several international conferences and seminars, such as the FMA, SFA, AEA (Posters), EBFin Conferences and the Research Seminars at the Central Bank of Brazil, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Georgetown University, IMF Research Department, SKEMA Business School and University of Hamburg. I also serve as an ad hoc referee for academic journals, such as Applied Economics, Applied Financial Economics, Brazilian Administration Review (BAR) and Finance Research Letters. In my spare time, I am an enthusiast of hiking, travelling and language. I am fluent in English (working language), Mandarin and Portuguese, while learning Cantonese, Spanish and Italian.
